There is this absolute AI madness spreading like a virus across the internet these days, especially in the business world of LinkedIn. It almost reminds me of the motorcycle gangs of the 1930s and the stupid hippie movement of the 1960s.
These people were so deeply trapped in their own insane worlds and belief systems that they didn’t even think twice before killing anyone who spoke against them or questioned their mindless, senseless, and criminal acts.
Thankfully, the AI bros on the internet aren’t killing anyone yet for pointing out reality, but they certainly lose their minds when you do.
At this point, no one really knows what is going to happen with this AI and Automation thing.
Will AI surpass human intelligence and turn us into slaves? Will it bring about an apocalypse and wipe out the human race? Will governments introduce legislation to control the growth and power of AI?
Or will it simply become a highly intelligent and sophisticated technology that genuinely helps us improve our quality of life?
Who knows?
But the AI bros seem to have an entirely different belief system. Here are some of the funniest claims I keep seeing, especially on LinkedIn:
- AI will replace all the Software/SaaS products you use right now with automated workflows.
- If your product or service doesn’t integrate AI, it will fail within the next few weeks or months.
- You can fire everyone from your Sales, Marketing, Design, IT, HR, and almost every other department and replace hundreds of people with a workflow, some custom AI agents, or an .md file.
- Anyone in the world can build a successful, multi-million-dollar business with zero employees, entirely by themselves. All you need are their worthless prompts and a few hundred million AI tokens.
- And the most abused one of all: “AI won’t replace you; a person using AI will.”
Let me tell you something: none of this is true. Period.
These are, in many cases, frustrated and struggling individuals and businesses trying to capitalize on the AI and Automation hype while it lasts.
I know a bunch of such people (especially on LinkedIn) who were Web 3.0 leaders, Blockchain visionaries, NFT collectors, Crypto traders, and highly successful Real-estate Agents in virtual-earth scams just a couple of years ago.
And now suddenly, they are AI-first entrepreneurs, without a single profitable company or successful exit! How amazing?
So, why are so many companies investing hundreds of billions of dollars in AI technology?
It’s called opportunity.
Right now, almost every sector is saturated, and AI is the latest thing. Companies and investors believe it could outperform virtually every other money-making opportunity the human race has ever seen.
That’s it.
It might actually happen, or the whole thing could burst even more spectacularly than the Dot-Com Bubble. No one really knows. It’s far too complicated to predict with certainty.
At this point, however, we do have clarity on one thing:
AI and automation offer tremendous potential to assist us in various areas of business and everyday life.
Think of AI and automation as your companion — a highly intelligent technology that can help you do things faster and better than you currently do them — rather than expecting it to build and run your entire business for you.
It’s like a catalyst.
If the fundamentals of your business are wrong or weak, AI isn’t going to magically fix them. It will simply amplify the good and the bad.
That includes your core offer, the quality of your products or services, after-sales support, customer service, and the way you treat and communicate with your customers.
AI can’t fix any of these things if they are fundamentally broken in the first place. So, before you trust any of these AI bros on the internet, start working on the fundamentals first. Start with using just one simple AI tool or model in a specific area of your business where you face the most challenges, and see how it works for you.
